The Cal Poly Small Business Development Center (SBDC) promotes the development of technology-focused ventures by providing high-quality business assistance to start-ups and established companies. We help entrepreneurs launch companies, create and retain jobs, and attract capital investment.

Judy Mahn

Judy Mahan

Economic Development Director

Judy is the Economic Development Director and runs the CIE Incubator and SBDC programs. She holds a J.D. from the University of Paris X Law School and an LLM in International Tax Law at Golden Gate University.

Liz Fisher

Program Manager

Liz Fisher is the Project Manager in charge of all programming and events. She coordinates center staff, consultants and assists the director wherever is needed. She holds a B.S. in Public Relations from the University of Idaho and has a strong background in hospitality and higher education administration.

Damon Watkins

Director of Finance and Operations

With over 20 years of financial and management experience, Damon is the Director Finance & Operations at Cal Poly Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship and oversees the financial, accounting and daily operations of the CIE. Damon was born in England and raised in South Africa and moved to the USA 20 years ago.

Alexis Cox

Graphic Design and Administrative Coordinator

Alexis coordinates the front office of the center and creates all digital and physical collateral. She is a recent graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a B.F.A. in Art and Design.

Olivia Van Hoy

Project Coordinator

Olivia is the Project Coordinator and is responsible for coordinating SBDC programs, consultants, process management and marketing. She is a Cal Poly graduate and holds a B.S. in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Administration and a Minor in Integrated Marketing Communications.
