A monthly program that brings community leaders, business owners, nonprofit executives and staffers together, and enables us to reconnect, engage and learn from each other. Our goal is to provide insight into business, community and legislative issues and share the stories of those making a difference. We want audience members to leave with ideas and information about how to better their personal and professional lives. In Jan 2016 Trident Winds submitted an unsolicited lease request to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) for the development of a commercial offshore wind farm off the coast of Morro Bay.  By the end of this year BOEM will be conducting a competitive lease auction that will see 3 developers securing sites off the coast of Morro Bay.  The original site defined in 2916 lease request is now part of the Morro Bay lease areas. She will provide an overview of the process that will be followed from now till the auction and what will take place post the auction, including offshore wind technologies that will be used for the installation of offshore wind in the water depths found off the coast of Morro Bay and along the West Coast.
