Facebook connects billions of users daily. The social media giant has 2.5 billion monthly users worldwide, with 1.6 billion active users every day. A majority of users are between the ages of 18 and 49 and have an average of 155 “friends” on the site. 

 

People in the world today use Facebook to stay updated with friends and family, find recipes and entertaining videos, read the news and of course, see plenty of advertisements. Facebook’s targeting abilities allow marketers to get specific with who sees their ads. 

 

Marketers can narrow down their audience by location, interests, age and behaviors. It is one of the least expensive forms of advertising, with ads that cost as low as $3 and reach 1,000 people.

 

Here are five effective tips to create the best Facebook ads for your business: 

 

  1. A/B Testing

 

Facebook allows you to customize your ads for different audiences. This improves targeting and gives you feedback on how each advertisement performs for each unique audience. Let’s say your company sells sunglasses. One advertisement could target people who spend a lot of time outdoors, and the other could target a beach-going audience.

 

  1. Use clear and beautiful images

 

A picture is worth a thousand words. Facebook Ads do not allow images with over 20 percent words, so ensure your ad captures the audience’s attention and draws them in. Over 65 percent of the population are visual learners, meaning they connect deeply to eye-catching images and graphics. 

 

  1. Give video a try

 

Videos on Facebook are easy to set up and very visually engaging for users. Over 500 million users view branded videos on Facebook daily. Adding captions and descriptive words to your videos are helpful as many viewers do not access their sound when they are scrolling publicly. According to Facebook, videos with captions increase views by 12 percent.

 

  1. Use a Call-to-Action

 

Facebook Ads give you the option to include a call-to-action (CTA) button in your post. Depending on your business and goals, you can choose from a “Shop Now” to “Download Now” button. Tracking the metrics of the CTA you choose helps to gauge how much or little engagement it generates with your audience.

 

  1. Be consistent

 

Having a clear and consistent brand message is essential for marketing. Having a reliable and positive reputation attracts trusting and loyal customers to your company. Ensure that your Facebook ads contain the same brand voice, message and promise as the rest of your brand’s content.
